Human Resources Director
As HR Director, Rick is responsible for all aspects of HR including recruiting, onboarding, orientation and managing the company’s HR database. Before joining DUS, Rick was the Learning & Development Manager at Doyon, Limited in Fairbanks.
His background is varied including serving as a Tennessee State Park Ranger, Parks & Recreation Director in Unalaska and Assistant City Manager. He spent over twenty years teaching for the U. S. Navy and Army and at several colleges and universities. Rick has bachelors and masters degrees in Education from Memphis State University and completed post graduate studies at the University of Utah. He earned his Senior Professional in Human Resources certification in 2010.
As an avid outdoorsman, Rick enjoys hunting, fishing, sea-kayaking and most outdoor pursuits. He currently serves on the National Recreation & Park Association’s Council on Accreditation and is a registered Alaska EMT.
